Yeah, I am. Sorry if I seem kind of awkward about this whole thing. I'm still getting used to it.
[Prompto's exclamation points and geniality are infectious, honestly. It's hard to get Kouhei to open up, yes, but he's smiling on the other side of the screen.]
Have you been using it for a while? You seem pretty comfortable talking to a stranger like me. That's not a bad thing, though. I'm glad. You're easy to talk to. Did that sound weird?
don't worry it happens i cope by posting funny things and focusing on cute animals and i guess in a sad way i'm used to this by now? been in it since february
ain't weird at all! i'm gonna say something even more cheesy like: "but kou! we're not strangers! we're friends now!" so lol
welcome to retrospec friendship simulator
He and Prompto are both ENTIRELY TOO CUTE TO HANDLE.
Funny things and cute animals? I'll keep it in mind, but jokes aren't really my strong point, and I don't have a pet. But if you've been on the app so long, you probably know what you're doing. Thanks for the advice.
[Except.... Prompto's next response catches him entirely too off guard, and he's left blinking at his screen in disbelief.]
Kou? You mean me? Are you sure? Is that okay?
[Dangit, he sent a line too early.... His fingers can't be trembling, right?]
i added you to plurk and forgot to mention that hi.. aDFLJF
[don't worry, the amount of question marks also catch prompto by surprise. but not for the same reasons. he rereads their conversation, hoping nothing he said was off-putting (despite the initial message)...]
is it okay to call you kou? and why wouldn't it be okay? i mean unless i'm being too forward or assuming you're cool with people friending you online
[wh..what a sweet reaction?! prompto smiles fondly at his phone, because something about this reminds him of one particular loser (himself) when he first met someone who wanted to be friends with him.]
you can call me prompto! or prom whatever works heheheh well i'm glad too! are you a student at uni?? i'm a photography student
Photography sounds fun. Do you prefer scenery or portraits? Yeah, I'm studying literature with ASL on the side. I guess it makes sense that we don't share any classes, then.
i prefer ANIMALS real cute ones but also non-cute ones all the animals action shots of people with a vast landscape are also my favorite i'm a master of candids
asl? is that ..... [not netspeak] american sign language right? personal use?
I can't blame you there. Animals seem like they'd be a lot of fun to take pictures of, since they're really expressive.
Um If it's okay to ask, I mean Since we're friends now, could I maybe see some of your pictures sometime? Is that okay?
And yeah, sign language... I've had trouble hearing since I was a kid. Sorry, there wasn't a chance to mention it earlier. I grew up using Japanese sign language back home, but I've been learning ASL since I transferred here a few years back.
yeah i volunteer at the animal shelter so there's a lot of material right there btw the most huggable animals in my experience so far are chocobos this is an important bit of information so treat it as so!
definitely okay kou!!! i don't mind share and how can i say no when you ask so nicely?!
see i didn't even know there were different types of sign language can you listen to music just fine?? sucks that you have hearing problems to begin with show me the difference between jsl and asl sometime okay!
Huggable? Even at an animal shelter, I'd be nervous to hug one. But I've never been before, so it may be worth visiting.
Yeah, they're just like spoken languages. Similar, but different enough to make things confusing for me. But it's okay. I'm not completely deaf, so I listen to music sometimes with my hearing aids. But I prefer reading, in the end.
When you show me your pictures, I can show you some sign language in return as thanks. Does that sound good?

thank you kouhei! i don't think i've seen you on the app before? you're new right?
